What happens during the first consultation ?

After our receptionist has recorded your details, including those of your insurance company and number (if applicable), you will meet with the dentist. A detailled questionnaire will be completed with you. Your dental history, dental problems and wishes will be considered. Digital X-ray pictures will be taken of your teeth so that a complete picture can be formed of the condition of your teeth. With extensive or cosmetic treatments, digital photographs will also be taken so that it is easier to discuss the treatmentplan on the computer with you.

The dentist will give you advice tailored to your situation. The treatment plan can then be carried out in phases and you can indicate over what period of time you would wish the treatment to take place. The first consultation lasts about half an hour, depending on the situation.

Is a Brite-Smile treatment safe for my teeth?

How long do teeth remain white after a Brite-Smile treatment?

A: Depending on, among other things, smoking, consumption of coffee, tea or red wine, the process of discolourisation will continue after the treatment. How you clean your teeth also plays a part. In general, the result remains visible for many years. Only rarely does the treatment need to be repaeated after around five to seven years. What also is noticable,is that many people take greater care of their teeth after a Brite-Smile treatment. Many smokers even stop smoking. A special Brite-Smile toothpaste is also available. This toothpaste is very effective and leaves a layer on the enamel that stops dark colours, such as found in red wine, from attaching themselves to your teeth for a while.

How firm are implants and how long do they remain in the jaw?

A: Implants are implanted in the jaw bone. It is generally possible to place them very secure. After the implantation, we place the restoration, for instance a crown, a click denture or an All-on-4 bridge, within a few days or weeks. In a small percentage of the cases we wait one or more months before loading the implants.
Once the implants are placed, the bone grows around them firmly and it is the intention that the implants remain there for a number of decades.

How soon can I make a first appointment?

A: Generally there is space in the diary for a first appointment within one or two weeks. For extensive treatments we also keep time free, so that treatments are possible at short notice.

Can I make an appointment myself with the dental hygienist?

A: Yes, of course. Good dental hygiene is very important for preserving your teeth throughout your entire life. When you make your appointment with the dental hygienist you can also combine it with an appointment with the dentist for a check-up. This way you can avoid having to make a second visit. We recommend that you see the dental hygienist once every six months. Before your first intake with the dentist, you can also visit the dental hygienist. We can then begin with a beautifully clean and fresh set of teeth.
